Avocados are best
Understanding where your food comes from can help you enjoy it more! About 3 years ago, I was a full-fledged, proud meat lover. My plate would be 50% or more full with chicken wings, ribs, steak…you name it. My wife, who has not eaten any of those things since she was about 12 years old, would watch me eat it (quietly in disgust but I didn’t care). I loved meat and could not understand why or how she could eat the way she did.
That all changed in 2018 when I saw her emotionally distraught while on the sofa watching a film. It was the 2011 documentary film, Forks Over Knives. My game changer!
Meat lovers, like my former self, do not want to admit it but we don’t want to know how that meat ends up on our plates. The film exposed me to the horrible conditions of the animals and the harm of eating them. And this led to a commitment to a plant-based diet and understanding where all my food comes from. I’m not fully there yet, or if I will ever be but as my wife says “progress over perfection.”
